Internet Explorer 7
As you've probably heard already, Internet Explorer 7 is in beta testing.
It's about time!
IE 6 has been around a long time, too long if you ask me. Designing for it is similar to wrestling with a greased pig. Not that I would know what that is like...
Some of the features that I'm looking forward to is:
Improved CSS support - It's going to support CSS 2.1 for sure. Now if we can get it to support CSS 3 we're golden.
Alpha channel in PNG images - Huzzah!
Tabbed Browsing - I haven't had the chance to use tabbed browsing yet, but I hear it's pure love.
You can see the full feature list here.
The only question that remains is, how long will it take for the majority of users to adopt it? Till then we'll still have to design using IE6 hacks and cracks.
Boo.
